With the owners getting older they have reluctantly decided to part with this stunning Rolls Royce which provides bidders with a rare opportunity to own a piece of motoring history.

This Rolls Royce Phantom 1 was purchased brand new by AE Ansell of Ansell Brewing in Birmingham (UK). It arrived in Australia in 1934 and was rebodied by Martin & King in 1935 from a Hooper cabriolet body to a 7-seat limousine with division. It was used as a taxi by City Motor Service until 1940 – a highlight from this time was convoying the visiting English Cricket Team on their Ashes tour in 1936/37.

The Phantom 1 limousine was fitted with P-100 headlamps and sent to Tasmania where it was owned by the schoolmaster at Launceston Church Grammar School. The registration was cancelled in the 1950s and the vehicle partially dismantled.

The car was purchased by its current owner in 2013. Since then, it has been restored and meticulously maintained by Derby Works. This Phantom 1 is a comfortable, reliable, and impressive club car. In recent years it has completed the 20-Ghost National Rally to Mount Gambier, as well as around 4000 miles of rallies back to Tasmania, Canberra, and locally to Nagambie. This tour-ready pre-war Rolls Royce has great provenance and is always going to be a bit special.
