Sunday 25th of August saw the latest edition of the Burns & Co Classic & Collectable Car Auction take place.

It was great to have so many online, phone and absentee bidders as well as a very well populated bidding floor at our Melbourne facility making for an amazing day.
With 53 cars going under the hammer on Sunday, it was sure to be a brilliant day filled with opportunity. The day would soon become unforgettable with some very special cars going under the hammer early. Lot 18 saw the amazing 1980 Holden HDT VC Brock, the car that really cemented Peter Brock’s influence in the Holden story located in our Newcastle facility sell for $197,820, As the lots progressed the quality wouldn’t slow down, Lot 35 being a desirable 1990 Holden HSV VN Commodore SS Group A which sold for $175,840.
But at the end of the tunnel, the very last lot, was an UNRESERVED genuine 1988 Holden HSV VL SS Group A Walkinshaw. This car was one of the best we have ever seen, and the best one we have seen since the D’alberto auction. Being a matching number car, build no. 656 of 750 with genuine 38,759 km and with all service history and books, the team knew that this car would be at the No.1 spot of our top 10 this auction selling at a very deserving $249,473.
