Last night saw the closing out of the Late Robert Holzinger Collection Auction with a live auction being held at 4 Market Drive, Bayswater, VIC, 3153. There was a lot of interest and many eager bidders for this auction which saw an Australian record set for the sale of a tyre related sign with the very impressive Superb Original 2 Piece OLYMPIC TYRES Enamel sign sell for the handsome sum of $36,115! This highly sought after sign measured at 2150 x 2000 and was in very nice condition, as evidenced by the level of interest and the final selling price.

This wasn’t the only hotly contested item on the catalogue though. Coming in at second place was a Nicely Restored HAMMOND Visible Petrol Pump with Calcometer which went on to sell for $15,436. It was another large and desirable enamel sign that rounded out the top 3 selling lots with an Original Embossed Enamel SHELL 3 Piece Enamel Sign selling for $14,213.
