A massive week for memorabilia, with 2 auctions capping off over 4 straight days contributing to another successful week here at Burns & Co!
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night saw our 3 Part South Australian Single Vendor Livestream Collectors Auction with a catalogue boasting a great selection of Petrol Pumps as well as restorers Pumps/Parts. These pumps complimented a tremendous selection of Enamel & Screen print signs, Tins & Drums, Oil Bottles & Racks, Spark Plug, Sewing Machines, Workshop Manuals and Dealership ephemera & collectables plus much more. There were also some well-known brand names featured including the likes of Shell, Golden Fleece, Castrol, Pirelli, Caltex, Goodyear, Holden, Ford, Ferrari plus much, much more!
Thursday night saw us close out our Automotive & Sports, Memorabilia and Ephemera Timed Online Auction with a plethora of motoring and other sporting scripture and memorabilia and featured some great opportunity for both the experienced collector as well as those starting out. Included was a prominent selection of Holden vehicle brochures, pamphlets, booklets, manuals and general ephemera along with a broad selection of dealership posters, flags and marketing materials. For non-motorsport fans, there was an excellent selection of Aussie Rules (particularly Fitzroy/Brisbane Football Club), Cricket and some Horse Racing collectables including signed sportswear, framed memorabilia, medallions, collector cards, team merchandise and more!
The highlights across the two nights included;
South Australian Single Vendor Livestream Collectors Auction
Unrestored petrol pumps were the order of the day in this auction, with the 3 top selling lots fitting this memorabilia category and all coming from night 3!
- Lot 1434, the Unrestored Gilbert & Barker Double Visible 5 Gallon Petrol Pump was the highest selling lot of this auction, going for a fantastic price of $9,261.
- The Unrestored 6 Gallon Visible Petrol Pump was the second best seller, reaching a final price of $4,427. Third place saw another desirable petrol pump sell, with Lot 1426, the Survivor Shell Wayne AS70 Electric Petrol Pump selling for $1,951 at the swing of the hammer.
It wasn’t just petrol pumps that sold well in this auction however;
- Night 1 saw Lot 1124, an Original Enamel Goodyear Tyres Dealership Sign reach an impressive final bid of $1,427 and Night 2 featured an Original Enamel Shell Depot Sign that achieved a final price of $1,864.

Automotive & Sports, Memorabilia and Ephemera Timed Online Auction
Some rare and desirable marketing material for unreleased concept Holden models ended up catching the keen eye of bidders within this auction!
- Lot 967 was very competitive item amongst bidders, with a rare Holden GTR-X Prototype Dealership Brochure reaching a great price of $1,586.
- The second top selling lot of this auction was the highly desirable Vintage Holden Hurricane Prototype Plastic Dealership Banner at Lot 1033. There aren’t many places you’ll find these as a collector, so understandably it sold well and reached a final bid on the night of $1,244.
- Rounding out the top three best sellers of this auction was Lot 935, a Holden 50th Anniversary Cloth Banner. A great memorabilia piece for those big on the Aussie automotive industry, it deservedly sold for $762.
