Our December auction proved to be record breaking, with a huge catalogue of 94 lots, lots of competitive bidding and a big overall clearance rate of over 90%, it was an auction you just couldn’t miss!
The December edition of the Muscle, Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction wrapped up this week over three massively successful nights! With 94 desirable lots on display between our two headquarters in Bayswater Victoria and Beresfield NSW, there was a lot of anticipation as this catalogue oozed quality, and it showed, with a final clearance rate achieved of over 90%!
Night one of this massive auction kicked off on December 8th and had a massive selection of highly collectable Aussie muscle cars and heritage vehicles, with some massive prices being achieved on the night, including a record breaking one for the final lot of the night. Night two showcased some of the best muscle and classic vehicles on offer produced outside of Australia, with many classic American, European and Japanese cars and bikes going under the hammer. The third and final night put the exclamation point on this very successful auction, with all lots selling on the final night, leading to an awesome 100% clearance rate on Night 3 alone, capping off this fantastic auction!
The car that had everyone’s attention on Night 1 was Lot 38, an absolutely unreal and award winning example of the 1975 Ford XB GT Hardtop Manual 351 V8 (T Code) which sold for a record price of $369,264! Amongst all of our Muscle, Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auctions that have occurred this year, this Ford XB GT Coupe ended up being the top seller amongst all vehicles! Featuring in Night 1 too was the illustrious and instantly recognisable 1988 Holden VL Group A Walkinshaw V8 Build No: 469, which took out the second top price of the entire auction with a price of $192,325. The third best selling lot of the night and the entire auction was the vintage 1924 Stanley Steamer Roadster Model 750. This restored example was in pristine condition and rounded out the top 3 best sellers of the auction, reaching a final price at the swing of the hammer of $175,840.
Night 2 proved to be a big night for cars and bikes with a modern American super car taking the reigns as the top seller on this particular night, with the fantastic 2023 Corvette C8 Corvette Stingray V8 Coupe selling for an impressive price of $167,048. The second biggest sale on the night was Lot 55, the ever so classic 1969 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet 428 4V V8 Manual Coupe, which sold for an undisclosed amount after passing in. The third best seller for Night 2 was one of Britain’s best, the classic but modernised 2011 Land Rover Defender 90 Short Wheel Base, selling for $61,554.
The auction came to a full close on Night 3, with the top selling lot of the night being a motorcycle! It was the 1992 Kawasaki KR-1S (KR250) Motorcycle that was the best seller on this particular night, reaching a final overall price of $23,625.
