Competitive bidding, high catalogue interest and a huge 90% Clearance Rate for this thrilling auction!
The June edition of the Muscle, Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle + Other Auction wrapped up this week over three massively successful nights that led to a HUGE 90% Clearance Rate! An exceptional achievement in an auction with over 100 lots on display.
Night one featured a hefty catalogue, filled to the brim with Australian muscle and classic vehicles that was very popular with floor bidders, with a number of those floor bidders taking out lots on the night. Night two also saw many classic American, European and Japanese cars and motorcycles go under the hammer with major interest being garnered online. The third and final night put the exclamation point on this very successful auction with the clearance rate for night three alone reaching a staggering 100%!
Across all three auctions, it was the UNRESERVED Indy Orange 1970 Holden HG Monaro GTS 308 V8 Manual that ended up being the top seller, with it reaching a final bid on Monday night of $144,518! It’s almost identical twin brother, a fantastic blue 1970 Holden HG GTS Monaro 350 V8 Automatic Coupe conjured up a fantastic price of its own of $102,207. Modern Aussie muscle was just as popular with the bidders too, with the super desirable 2017 Holden VF GTSR LSA Supercharged V8 Sedan with only 38565 Kms on the clock fetching an eye watering $116,219 at the fall of the hammer!
It wasn’t just Aussie Muscle though that took the spotlight! The top seller for Tuesday night was a British sports car icon, the 1958 Jaguar XK 150 Coupe Manual. This lot ended up achieving a final price of $71,079. Within the catalogue too was an UNRESERVED 2005 Dodge Ram V10 Manual 6 Speed Utility, which at the time, was the fastest production truck in the world! With something like that to boast, it is no wonder bidders were keen to get a hold of it, with the final bid reaching $66,159. Motorcycles were a big seller on Tuesday night too, with a pristine 1927 Indian Scout Police Special 750cc becoming the top seller amongst the bikes achieving an impressive $41,062 when the hammer fell.
