Sunday 5th of May saw the latest edition of the Burns & Co Classic & Collectable Car Auction take place.
It was great to have so many online, phone and absentee bidders as well as a very well populated bidding floor at our Melbourne facility making for an amazing day.
The day got off to a bang early with the auction of Lot 8 an absolutely gorgeous 1968 Holden HK GTS 327 Monaro Tribute. Having seen strong pre-bidding on this car there was great interest as to what would happen come the live auction. The bidding jumped out of blocks early seeing the car price shooting up. After a brief cooling of bids, the bidders again kicked into gear fighting it out until the hammer fell with the price on $258,265. Owner Andrew was a very happy man. “I love the set up here, it is amazing. Itβs intimate, not too big but not too small. I found the Burns and Co staff very good to deal with. They provided good service, great advice and were honest in their assessment of my car. The presentation and the description of my car was spot on. I would totally recommend Burns & Co, especially for selling muscle cars.”
This set the tone for the rest of the day with a number of very strong results and a clearance rate of 90%. The second highest selling lot was lot 55, a 1976 Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe which reached $151,662.Β The Red 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Auto 327 ($145,617) and the 1927 Rolls Royce Phantom 1 ($100,558) were the other cars to top the $100,000 mark with the 1963 Holden EH Special Sedan V8 also getting quite close ($97,811).

A huge thank you to our vendors, staff and bidders for making this sale a success, and most importantly for choosing Burns & Co.
