What an auction this October edition was, with over 106 lots, massive bidding interest and a clearance rate over 90%, it was huge!
The October edition of the Muscle, Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction wrapped up this week over three massively successful nights! With 106 desirable lots on display between our two headquarters in Bayswater Victoria and Beresfield NSW, there was a lot of anticipation as this catalogue oozed quality, and it showed, with a final clearance rate achieved of over 90%!
Night one of this massive auction kicked off on October 7th and had an Aussie theme to it, with a large number of highly collectable Holden and Ford vehicles going under the hammer. Night two showcased some of the best muscle and classic vehicles on offer produced outside of Australia, with many classic American, European and Japanese cars and bikes going under the hammer. It proved to be a very popular night with some tremendous results being recorded, and with a number of floor bidders going home with a new prized car or bike! The third and final night put the exclamation point on this very successful auction, with every lot on the final day selling at good prices!
The car that had everyone’s attention on Night 1 was the UNRESERVED 1972 Holden HQ Monaro GTS 308 5.0 Litre V8 Coupe. Painted in the terrific Chateau Mauve and with only 15,050 genuine miles, it sold at a deservedly big price at $232,438, the highest price of the entire 3 night auction! Coming second on the night after selling post auction was the fully engineered 1970 Holden HG Monaro Coupe LS3 Supercharged, which sold for an impressive $230,790! Rounding out the top 3 on the night was one of Holden’s more recent muscle vehicles, the 2017 Holden HSV GTS-R Maloo Utility LSA Manual which sold for a princely $164,850!
Night 2 proved to be a big night for cars and bikes with the legendary and instantly recognisable 1966 Ford GT40 Tribute Manual being the top seller on night, reaching a final price of $129,132. The second best-selling car on the night, the 1959 Cadillac 62 Series V8 Automatic Coupe garnered a crowd of interested floor bidders, at the fall of the hammer, the car was able to reach the final selling price of 108,801. Amongst the bikes, it was the 1928 Harley Davidson J Model that ended up being the top seller, with the highly desirable motorcycle reaching a final overall price of $35,325, a fantastic achievement!
The auction came to a full close on Night 3, with all 26 lots featuring on the final night selling, meaning a massive 100% clearance rate on the final night to a close out an absolutely fantastic overall auction!
