1924 Garford Fire truck!
Here’s one for the collectors!
Garford 15 Hale Unit 145 model W+10 23010, 136113 built in Ohio USA, its first assignment was with the NSW Fire department at Glenn Ines later moving onto Wyong in 1936, then to Warren in 1944, then to Maclean in 1950, then to Balgownie in 1959 before finally being assigned to Scarborough in 1961. Since being retired from the fleet it has been lovingly kept in collectors hands and is now time for it to turn over a new chapter 102 years down the track. The vendor advises it was running a couple of years ago with only the magneto causing a small fault with operating the vehicle at present. Vendor advises it has been fitted with a new battery and new tyre tubes. A large amount of spare parts are supplied with the vehicle including light bulbs, spare siren , magneto, starter motor and is also complete with the original fire extinguisher which is mounted in the rear compartment. The vendor also advised that all that needs doing is wiring of siren, and lights along with expertise of the magneto system and relevant start up procedure. Excellent opportunity perfectly suited to a museum.
