Built as a 4 door 6 wheel deluxe touring saloon with the 6 cylinder “L” head of 212 cubic inches. Previously exhibited for an extended period at the Gosford Classic Car Museum NSW which highlights the quality and desirability of the mark.
This original Right hand drive car was built in Australia by General Motors Holden at their Melbourne plant in 1936, prior to being subsequently shipped to New Zealand. The vehicle is largely original with a full respray and engine rebuild occurring around 2000 and a further respray being undertaken in the last 10 years. From the information available, it indicates that this car was originally used by the Police Commissioner of New Zealand as his day vehicle, when new.
Recent subtle upgrades and improvements undertaken to improve drivability include, 6 brand new Coker white wall tyres fitted, fully rewired to 12 Volt, all interior upholstery completely replaced, radiator replaced, high volume electric thermo fan fitted, electric fuel pump and all fuel lines replaced, new brake cylinders fitted to all 4 wheels, electric windscreen wiper motor, period correct modern indicators fitted, headlights upgraded to halogen units, all door, boot and window rubbers replaced, working blue light located at the centre top of windscreen, working illumination light on the bonnet mascot.
