Original Military issued Indian with history!
Built in 1944 this Indian 344B Chief was delivered new to the Australian Army and beard the registration number 92090. Through the lend lease system Indian’s were supplied to the military forces but as the war was nearing its end some units didn’t see active duty and where sold off to other government agencies like Police departments etc. This example has undergone a quality restoration which has included new crankshaft pins, bearings, shaft and housing, camshaft bushes & pins, oil pump gears and gaskets, reconditioned distributor, gearbox gears, bearings and seals, clutch plates, primary chain & seals, reconditioned carburetor, reconditioned autolite generator and cut out, wheel bearing seal & spacer, brake linings, drums machined, new wiring throughout and recondition Corbin speedo. During the restoration much attention to detail was taken into consideration and has had correct Indian parts used including, NOS Amp gauge, NOS ignition switch, motor lamp headlight, Indian horn, Autolite generator, AND Period tyres, blackout lights, distributor shield, air filter and fuel filter.
This is an exemplary example that is sue to impress the vintage motorcycle fanatics.
