A truly unique handcrafted special, this 1946 Lea Francis began life as a 14hp Four Light Saloon before being beautifully reimagined by Steptoes Garage into s one off steel bodied speedster, blending vintage British engineering with bespoke Australian craftsmanship. Originally imported into Australia by Brylaw motors, the car spent its early life in Victoria before moving to South Australia and then returning to Victoria in 2000. Following this the lengthy build began. Fitted with a fully rebuilt high compression twin overhead cam 4 cylinder paired to a 4 speed gearbox with overdrive. The car has been designed to accommodate taller drivers with generous legroom and low purposeful stance. Bearing the chassis number 270, this Lea Francis represents one of very few surviving examples of its make.
This would suit a collector or enthusiast seeking a bespoke piece of automotive history. The vehicle is supplied with a folder of progress photos of the build, history to the vehicle and receipts for various items. Currently on Victorian club registration (sold unregistered).
