Stunningly restored example.
The Triumph 650 cc Thunderbird was Edward Turners’ response to US dealers clamouring for a more powerful Triumph to match the Harleys and Indians. A derivation of the 5T it was an instant success which Turner later developed into the T110 and ultimately the Bonneville.
This example is a matching numbers bike treated to a full restoration several years ago. The then owner of the bike didn’t like the headlight nacelle look (which reminded many of the much cheaper Jawa two stroke) and it was restored with headlight “ears” and a separate headlight. It would be relatively straight forward to convert it back to a nacelle with repro parts commonly available.
The bike is an exceptional runner with a fully rebuilt motor that is mechanically very quiet. Paintwork is excellent, reflective of the relatively recent professional restoration.
A classy ride with all restoration work done
Would look right at home in a motorcycle collection.
Turn Key bike ready for its next chapter.
