Here’s a real eye catcher…
1963 Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday (Pillarless) – Australian delivered RHD, possibly the only surviving example in Australia.
This car was ordered and purchased by the Victorian Premier Henry Bolte through Rhodes Holden in 1963 as part of the Victorian Government fleet at the time.
After the car was retired from the fleet service, it was decommissioned and displayed at the Melbourne Museum. At some point in time, the Williamstown Historical Museum retired the car from its display and was sold to a private collector/restorer.
The car underwent an off-body restoration in late 2014 to 2015. The engine is a fully rebuilt 394 cubic inch big block and matching transmission.
Comes with original electric windows and front bench seat.
The restoration on the body work was re-finished with 2 pack metallic blue and with a white pearl roof. New guards and quarter panels were fitted along with a new fuel tank and new seat belts.
The suspension was overhauled with new bushes and components.
This car was last registered in 1984 with Victorian registration plates HTT000 with registration sticker still attached to the car verifying April 1984.
The car has been on Club Permit registration for the past two and half years with very little use.
Included with the car is an original Oldsmobile workshop manual, the HTT000 Victorian number plates (no rights) and archived photos of the car at Rhodes Holden in 1963.
As part of the transfer of sale to the next owner, details of the restoration can be supplied.
