Under the hood it is fitted with a red 202 that was built around 30 years ago and has been freshened up several times over the years. This is a mild custom tribute to GM of America. It underwent a full rebuild and around 15 years ago. The inspiration for the design was based on an interpretation of what GM may have offered as a premium package had they released this car in the US. The paint colour is called Reef Green (a GMH Colour). The entire design is a tribute to the chrome draped Chevrolets. Fitted with 13’ whitewalls with HR wheel trims. Many details were studied to ensure the colours and contrasts matched to create a mock-up of a premium top off the range looking production vehicle. The car has been to many show and shines and featured at the Victorian Hot Rod show. A few trophies were awarded over the years that add to the cars story. The triple gauges on the dashboard were fastidious designed, dismantled and colour matched to the tri-colour concept. There are a NASCO accessories fitted including day night mirror, steering lock, venetian blinds, mud flaps and mesh headlight protectors.
Fully retrimmed interior by Sunshine Motor Trimmers while a lumbar support is built into the driver’s seat. All the original glass has the GMH Hammer symbol.
After being retired from the ETSA fleet, the car went to Freeman Motors in Adelaide where it was purchased 1972. A previous owner still has 8mm film of following the car to Freeman’s. There are also numerous photos of the vehicle over the years which can be supplied to the purchaser upon request.
An automatic steering column also comes as an extra with the car.
