History
Rolled off the Broadmeadows Victoria production line in December 1970 (ZD production commenced August 1970, as a facelift to the ZC model, to be sold through 1971-2). First sold and registered in March 1971 via the Ford dealer Thompsons in Parramatta NSW. Sold to a doctor who owned it for only a year before trading it back in with Thompsons. It’s then long-term owner acquired the vehicle and used it as his daily drive for close to 20 years. In the early 1990’s it was pushed into his shed, where it sat for more than 20 years!

The car was acquired as a “barn find” in the early 2010’s, brought to Melbourne and purchased by the current owner (the vendor). The current owner has spent the last eight years rebuilding, repairing and replacing parts in an effort to restore the ZD.

Rebuilt/Repaired:
– Original motor was totally rebuilt by Dandy Engines approx. 2,000 miles ago
– Original C10 transmission was also totally rebuilt at the same time as motor.
– Brake system re built, including new booster vacuum, new master cylinder and braided lines.
– Power steering ram, original unit rebuilt
– Radiator rebuilt, retaining top and bottom tanks with new core fitted.
– Original front and back bumpers repaired and re chromed.
– Rebuilt driver’s seat and trim repairs made.
– Body work tidied up and re sprayed.
– Bright work (chrome) trim all machine polished.
New parts
– Starter motor (original clapper style), solenoid and battery.
– Fuel pump, original mechanical style
– Oil pump, high volume
– Sump pan and magnetic sump plug
– Water pump, high flow
– Radiator shroud and cap
– Car mats and dash pad cover (Carpets have also been replaced, but not by Vendor).
– All under bonnet rubber hoses

– Exhaust Pacemaker headers and 2 ¼ twin exhaust system, with chrome tips, fitted by Unique Exhaust of Bayswater Victoria.
– Wheels & Tyres Chrome 12 slotter rims with hub caps, 8-inch rears and 7-inch fronts (which have been off set for deeper dish by Canterbury Tyres Bayswater Vic). BF Goodrich Radial TA rubber all round. Original steel rim spare with new rubber.
– Stereo system replica push button facia, with modern head unit behind- Clarion CZ603AU – Bluetooth/CD/USB/MP3/WMA receiver. Stream from your phone via the cable in the glove box. Four-way Kenwood speakers (parcel shelf and kick panel mounted). Fitted by Performance Car Audio of Bayswater, Victoria.

The under-dash air conditioner. Full unit in place but needs re gassing and service.
