Provenance, Pedigree and Specification! Genuine 2 owner HT Monaro GTS 350! Purchased new from Mitchell & Townsend Motors. It Underwent a no expense spared top end restoration 10 years ago and a full photo gallery on a USB is supplied with the vehicle. The 350 V8 motor was reconditioned and bored out to 40 thou oversize with a mild cam also being installed.
The vendor has provided the following information about his time with the car and the cars history:
“In 1970 (aged 11) while on my way to school I took a short cut via a neighbour’s fence and first saw this brand new HT Monaro sitting in the driveway, during the next 5 years of short cuts, I became friends with the owner while admiring the Monaro and many years later my work again drew me to his house and there was the Monaro up on stands under a car port. He told me once it reached 60,000 miles he stored it there for safe keeping. Fast forward to 2012 and unfortunately the original owner was no longer with us. His grandson had taken over his estate which included the Monaro which was still sitting under the carport. The grandson knew I had a connection to the Monaro through his granddad for nearly 50 years and offered it to me at a reasonable price. I spent the next 6 years painstakingly restoring the car to as close to original as possible.”
