The 1970 Barracuda’s restyle removed all its previous commonality with the Valiant. The all-new model, styled by John E. Herlitz, was built on a shorter, wider version of Chrysler’s existing B platform, called the E-body. Thus, the Barracuda was now, according to Chrysler Corporation, “able to shake the stigma of “economy car.” The 1967-68 fastback design was deleted from the line and the Barracuda now consisted of only coupe and convertible models.
This example is a ready for its chapter. Nicely finished in eye catching orange with contrasting black interior this really will have heads turning at the next club run or car show. Supplied with the vehicle is a large folder of paperwork and workshop manuals.
Fitted with the V8 440 Chrysler big block stroked to 500 cubic inches, Edelbrock aluminium heads, mild Comp cams camshaft, Holley 950 DP, T727, 3000 rpm convertor. 8 3/4 LSD. Factory optioned 15 x 7 Chrysler Rallye wheels and factory power steering. Also fitted with VASS plate.
