Provenance, presentation and preservation! 1 Owner from 1971 through to 2015!
Purchased new in Launceston Tasmania by a lady named Margaret. The car was here pride and joy and was often spotted around her local area with her German Sheppard riding in the passenger seat (seat had blankets on it at all times). After her beloved German Sheppard passed away in 1990, she found the car reminded her to much of her companion and she parked it in the shed where it remained until 2015. Margaret had paid the registration for 2 years after parking the car in the shed and had the car covered in blankets for the best part of 25 years. The vendor being a friend and neighbor purchased the car in 2015 and has got the car back on the road. After having sat for 25 years the motor wouldn’t turn over and it had to be pulled down and freed. Upon opening the high compression 138 Red motor, the vendor advised that it became evident that this was not a standard engine, the pistons were of a dome shape still stamped Holden and the head was of a different design. After numerous investigations spanning over 10 years it is believed that the engine was a ‘built motor’ by GMH as it has a different cam, pistons and head to a normal 138 red motor also the vendor believes it could be a blueprinted and balanced engine from GMH. The original owner Margerat, now in her 80s, is adamant that the engine is the original and it has not been changed. The vendor has taken photos of the engine dismantled and detailed photos of the internal components. The paintwork appears very original as does the exceptionally well preserved red interior. All receipts accompany the vehicle from maintenance work the vendor has had carried out.
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a vehicle with such significant history and prevenance not to mention what an excellent survivor example it is.
