Very Original survivor example.

Ideal for the collector or enthusiast.

This unrestored, original patinaed Suzuki is the first “J” model. Part of a three model line up, the GT550 was intended to compete with the Kawasaki H1 triple.
The Suzuki offering was not a direct competitor as it was tuned for touring rather than outright acceleration.

The J model shared the same massive 4 leading shoe drum brake front as the GT750 model. These 4 leading shoe drum brakes are highly sought after now for café racers and consequently many of these have been parted out. This has resulted in these bikes becoming fairly rare.

This bike is a previously Australian registered vehicle so no complications with import approvals and compliance mods. Has been in extended storage. It turns over OK and has compression in all three cylinders.

Japanese bikes from the 70’s often didn’t survive well and obtaining replacement parts can be a nightmare. This bike has all its original parts and everything seems in good condition – even the chrome. Could be run as a very nice “survivor” bike with patina or a relatively easy restoration.

This motorcycle is located in our facility in Melbourne, for further information please contact Dave Hosking 0474 182 002 or Mason Hibbert 0455 191 035.

To protect your investment motorcycle bidders should consider at a minimum replacement of fuel, oil, fluids, filters and thorough brake inspection as motorcycles may have been stationary for some time. Motorcycles are sold as is off the floor – unregistered. Please check photos carefully for motorcycle condition.
