Matching number, completely original, 6/1972 built and July 1972 delivered HQ GTS 308 V8 Monaro Coupe, in eye catching Chateau Mauve with a genuine 15050 miles on the clock.
The story is as unique as the car itself.
Sold new in Lillydale, Victoria by Peter Robinson Motors the car has been tightly held by the Metalli family ever since. Housed at 870 Mountain Highway, Bayswater, Vic 3153 until recent years the car’s longest trip was to St Kilda on a Sunday for a family ice cream (which had to be eaten before getting back into the car). Mr Metalli had a dislike for seatbelts so removed the back belts the day he purchased the Monaro and car has never been in the rain!
The car is an extremely original example with paint, interior and chrome as good as you’d expect for a car with this extremely low milage (yes, I know it’s hard to believe but that’s 100% original paint and interior). The spare tyre has never been fitted to the car and as you can see is NOS as is the jack etc.
The car comes with original purchase receipt, air chief owner’s manual, certificates of registration along with original registration stickers, owner’s manual and owners guide which are both as mint as the car. Mr Metalli was a competent, well respected mechanic so did all servicing on the car himself hence no entries in the service record.
The car has been parked up for a number of years (well over 20) so will need a full service, brakes, fuels and oils etc will need attention and in the photos you’ll note that the fuel line has been cut to prevent contamination etc (No attempt to start).
