These plates MG-501 were the first Registered Number Plates fitted to the very first Australian Built Holden (No 1) Pilot Car / Production Car, a Holden 48-215 in Gawler Cream on October 19th 1948.
The car was completed on the 30th September 1948 and was extensively used by a Holden for testing. The car is still owned by Holden and is often referred to as “Old Number One”.
A very significant part of Australian Motoring History that represents the beginnings of Holden, this is an ultimate collectors item for the biggest of GMH fans!
