Kerry Cook purchased this Rally Red GTR XU1 brand new from Blanchard Motors in late 1970 whilst an apprentice at Whites BP garage on the corner of Ferntree Gully and Blackburn Road…

Kerry purchased the XU-1 to race and on the 3rd January 1971 Kerry won at Phillip Island… one of the first times a GTR XU-1 had won a race in Victoria…

The car was campaigned against many of the great drivers of the day including Peter Brock and Alan Moffatt. Kerry stopped racing due to the high cost involved v apprentice wages and the car was sold to Athol Warman.

Fast forward to 2021 and Kerry is once again reunited with the car right here in our Bayswater Auction Rooms where it’s on display as one of our feature entries in our upcoming Classic Car Auction 7/11/21…another privilege for our team.
