January Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction – Auction Results!

Sunday 19th of January saw us conduct our first Burns & Co Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction for 2025.

It was great to have so many online, phone and absentee bidders as well as a very well populated bidding floor at our Melbourne facility making for an amazing day. It was a day filled with opportunity with some very nice cars and motorcycles going under the hammer.
There was some competitive bidding throughout the day demonstrated when lot 9 a genuine 1986 Holden HDT VL SS Group A – Plus Pack sold for $92,316 right through to lot 51, an eye-catching Hacienda Blue 1967 Holden HR Premier 186S Manual 4 Speed that saw the hammer fall and sell for $85,722.
The highest selling lot for the day was the immaculate Orion Silver 1934 Ford 3 Window Hot Rod which sold for $171,444. The equal second highest selling lot for the day was the 1971 Ford Falcon XY GT Tribute Manual which equaled lot 9 with a price tag of $92,316.

April Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction – Auction Results!

Sunday 13th of April saw some competitive bidding, lots of floor bidders and a HUGE 96% Clearance Rate!

It was great to have so many online, phone and absentee bidders as well as a very well populated bidding floor giving the bidding some great momentum at our Melbourne facility making for an amazing day. It was a day filled with opportunity with some very nice cars and motorcycles going under the hammer.
There were lots of bids placed across the day, especially when it came to lot 62 with the classic 1976 Holden HX Windowless Panel Van V8 collecting 123 total bids. It fetched $103,306 with one floor bidder walking away as the lucky new owner. Another popular lot with bidders was lot 50, the 1923 Indian Big Chief 1200cc. At the fall of the hammer, the bike made an impressive $56,250.
The highest selling lot for the day was lot 63, a pristine, cream coloured 1956 Holden FJ Windowless Panel Van which sold for $115,395. Coming in second was the 1976 Holden HX Windowless Panel Van V8 mentioned earlier and then the third highest selling lot was a True Blue coloured 1971 Ford Falcon XY GT Tribute 427 V8 Manual that after a lot of bids and sold for $99,734.

The January Burns & Co Classic and Collectable Car & Motorcycle auction will conclude with a live auction this Sunday the 19th of January 2025 with the first lot going under the hammer from 10am AEDT. Bidders can bid online, via phone and absentee or you can attend and bid in person at 4 Market Drive, Bayswater Vic 3153.

With the auction featuring Cars, Motorcycles and selected memorabilia there is something here for everyone including some fantastic Aussie Muscle, all-time favourite classics, American icons and entry level club cars and motorcycles including an outstanding selection of unreserved lots.

At Burns and Co., we are specialists at selling Aussie classic and muscle cars and this auction is no different. Included in this auction is a Bathurst raced 1970 Ford Falcon XW GT-HO Phase II, HDT VL SS Group A, HX & HR Premiers, XP Falcon Deluxe, EH & EJ Specials, HZ Sandman Tribute Panelvan, XY GT Tribute, VR Commodore GTS, VS Clubsport,  and 2 Valiant Charger Replicas. And that is not even all of them. Jump online and take a look at the catalogue to see the rest of our Aussie stock including Gen-F Maloo R8 and VS SS utes to name a couple.

But it’s not just Aussie cars up for grabs, there’s plenty of American and European made cars available too including a 1931 Delage Special Roadster, 1967 Daimler V8 Sedan, 1995 Daimler XJ300, 1967 Corvette Stingray Roadster 427 V8 Manual, 1977 Jaguar XJ6 Series II, 1975 MGB GT V8, 1959 Ford Ranchero Ute, 2014 Jaguar XF S Luxury Auto as well as a very nice 1934 Ford 3 Window Hot Rod. Then there are the motorbikes. With models from 1919 through to 2016 and with brands including Triumph, Kawasaki, Raleigh, Norton, Harley Davidson, Ducati and Moto Guzzi, many of which are unreserved, there is a great selection up for grabs.

Auction Results – Late Brian Fullgrabe Collection, Timed Online Auction Parts 3, 4 & 5

This week saw Burns & Co close out the much-awaited three-part Late Brian Fullgrabe Collection Timed Online Auction that featured over 600 lots including an extensive range of vintage, veteran and collectable motorcycle parts. Brian was a well-known and well-respected bike enthusiast and restorer from the Riverina region of N.S.W and this catalogue formed parts 3, 4 and 5 of the dispersal of his very extensive collection / works.

Each of the three different auctions saw some very competitive bidding with buyers jostling to get their hands on very sought after parts. The top selling lot in part 3 was a Norton Motorcycle Frame which sold for $2,440. It was another Norton piece that was the highest selling lot in part 4 with a NORTON Gear Box selling for $854 and a Selection of Vintage Motorcycle Clutches topped all other lots in part 5 selling for $1,006.

This gorgeous Olympic 2-piece enamel sign has been sold by way of negotiation for an eye watering $40k (a record price for a tyre related sign).

From the East Coast it will now be heading to the West Coast. This sale follows on from the recent Late Robert Holzinger Collection Auction where a Superb Original 2 Piece OLYMPIC TYRES Enamel sign sold for the handsome sum of $36,115, which is the previous record for a tyre related sign.

Last night saw us finalise the Tyre & Battery Dealership Auction  with a live auction held at 4 Market Drive, Bayswater, VIC. There was some very competitive bidding for some very hotly contested lots. We’d like to congratulate Tony Cordina, who has been a very, very loyal client with Burns & Co and last night it paid dividends by the truck load when we saw a record-breaking sale which has put tyre related advertising on the map. No longer can it be considered the “poor cousin” to petrol and oil.

With over 20,000 REGISTERED BIDDERS, 110,000 FACEBOOK FOLLOWERS and record-breaking sale after record-breaking sale these results really aren’t a surprise.
