“World’s Most Beautiful Car” up for Auction on 16th March

By What's News

BID NOW

Enzo Ferrari once said, “Jaguar’s E-Type is the most beautiful car in the world.” And looking at this stunning 1968 Jaguar E Type 2+2 Coupe that is up for auction in the March Burns & Co Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction, it is hard to disagree.

This iconic sleek and stylish British sports car is fitted with Air conditioning to add extra comfort to those drives during the hot Australian summer. What a gorgeous example of the E-Type this one is, the paint, interior and engine bay are all spotless.

It’s clear this car has been well cared for. It has undergone an extensive restoration, that has been heavily documented, in fact you can scan the below QR Code and view photos taken of the restoration.

Did we say extensive restoration? Be cause we meant it, check out this list of work that has been done…

  • Brand new E type Fabs front engine frames
  • Rebuilt Motor, Gearbox and Diff
  • New exhaust System
  • New Wiring Loom
  • Total suspension Rebuild Front and Rear
  • New braking and fuel lines
  • Total refurbishment of Brakes (New Servo , Master Cylinders and callipers refurbished)
  • Triple SU Carbs totally rebuilt
  • New Radiator and very powerful Puller Fan (actually reduces temp far enough to turn it off)
  • Integrated bespoke Air Conditioning to keep the cabin cool and comfortable
  • New windscreen and Seals all round
  • New wheels and tyres (5)
  • Additional sound deadening and heat reducing insulation
  • Brand New Dizzy (Lucas NOS)
  • Rebuilt and refurbished Instruments
  • Refurbished most Chrome (the rest was in excellent condition)
  • British Racing Green (to genuine formula for this year)
  • New interior (Old Beige)
  • Refurbished Wiper system
  • New Heater and Vacuum pipes
  • New Seat belts
  • Steering wheel refurbished.

And the kicker. It has only travelled 300 miles since that extensive ground-up restoration!

The vendor has purchased a new project and so has decided he needs to move this one on. This presents a fantastic opportunity for bidders at the March Burns & Co Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction, so jump online and get your bid in today.

You can view photos and videos of the car here.

Rare 1969 Mazda R100 Coupe up for grabs on March 16th

By What's News

The Mazda R100 Coupe was based on the RX-85 show car and followed the Cosmo 110S of 1964 (Mazda’s first rotary-powered car). Sold in Japan as the Familia Rotary Coupe it was known as the R100 in export markets. With a light (913 kg) weight and free-revving 10A twin-rotor Wankel motor the Mazda coupe had excellent performance and did zero to 100 km/h in just 10.8 seconds with a top speed of around 177 km/h.

The new R100 was intended by Mazda to bring rotary power to the masses and thus the body was largely unchanged from the conventional-engined Cosmo it was based on. A few discrete changes were made like the round taillights, blacked out grille and raised bonnet. The suspension was also stiffened and the R100 used larger 14-inch wheels and bigger brakes to cope with the extra power.

The R100 also performed quite well in competition, finishing fifth and sixth behind Porsche 911s in the Spa 24-Hours in 1969 and placing fifth outright in the 1969 Marathon de la Route held on the tough Nürburgring circuit. The R100 remained in production until 1973 and like all early rotary Mazda’s, enjoys a cult following in Australia which has seen values skyrocket in recent years.

The 1969 Mazda R100 Coupe featured here is available in the March Burns & Co Classic & Collectable Car Auction and is in immaculate condition throughout. The attention to detail shown on this vehicle is first class. It’s condition has to be seen to be believed.

No expense has been spared in its 10-year restoration which was completed approximately 3 years ago with the car having travelled less than 1000 Miles since then.

This Significant landmark car is what we would consider a turn key car with all the work done. For this make and model that it is almost impossible to find. This car will prove to be a great investment for one lucky bidder on March the 16th. So keep an eye on the Burns & Co website and Facebook page for updates as the auction draws closer.

You can view photos and videos of the car here.

Further information on the March Burns & Co Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction can be found here.
