See Burns & Co at our Sponsor Stall at the 2025 Bay to Birdwood – THIS SUNDAY

By What's News

𝗦𝗲𝗲 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝗱𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆!!!

Burns & Co are excited to be a Level 2 Sponsor / Supporting Partner for this year’s RAA Bay to Birdwood event which is being held this Sunday the 19th October. This is our first year as a sponsor of this event and as not only a business with many staff with a long history in the car industry, but as Car lovers ourselves, it is fair to say we cannot wait to get across to Adelaide for this one.

The iconic Bay to Birdwood event sees thousands of South Australians and automotive enthusiasts from across the country gather to celebrate automotive history. Attendees will witness an impressive parade of over 1,500 historic vehicles along the scenic 67-kilometre route, departing Barratt Reserve for the National Motor Museum in Birdwood, nestled in the Adelaide Hills.

Ashley, Anton and Riley are making the trip across the border to SA for this event and you can catch up with the Burns & Co team at our Partner Stall at the Finish Festival at the National Motor Museum in Birdwood. So come along and say hi as we are looking forward to seeing lots of faces both new and old!

Is this the best example of a VL SS Group A Plus Pack in Australia?

By What's News

If it isn’t it has to be right up there!!!

Known for their rarity and collectability, especially the Plus Pack models, its racing pedigree, and its iconic status as Peter Brock’s last HDT car. The 1986 Holden VL Commodore SS Group had only 500 examples made and only 173 of those came out with the ‘Plus Packs’ making these cars are a true Aussie collector piece.

One for the collectors.

This Genuine 1986 Holden VL Commodore SS Group A Plus Pack is an exceptional example and it’s  hard to fault. Build number 279 out of 500 it comes with the Plus Pack option, the Polarizer, a manual 5 speed transmission, the original books, compendium, build sheet, and it has a miserly 61,900 Kms on the clock. And to top it all off, it’s condition is A1. We think that this could possibly be the best example in Australia! This one really needs to be seen to be believed.

The car presents near new and is very original. It features immaculate original Acrylic paint with only the front and rear bumpers and side skirts being repainted many years ago. This car was sent to John Sheppard (ex HDT Manager) by the first owner and had the engine stroked to a 344ci and camshaft fitted.

If condition is important then you don’t want to let this one pass you by.

Beresfield on Show!!

By What's News

It was a very busy weekend for the Burns & Co team up in Beresfield with a hive of activity happening in and around our Craftsman Close showrooms.

It all kicked off on the Saturday morning when we were fortunate to have a visit from the Hunter British Ford group who came for a visit to the Beresfield showroom. Our NSW Manager Phil Shaw spoke with the members present about our new showroom and the services offered by Burns & Co before they were shown around the showroom to take in all of the NSW cars entered into our October Muscle, Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction.

The day kicked on further with a big afternoon in Craftsman Close when Burns & Co teamed up with Terry from Remarkable Auto Corrections for an open day that saw a both businesses carparks and the street full of cars & people. It is estimated that over 100 cars came out and more than 200 people came along to check out the showrooms of both businesses and the cars on display while taking advantage of the food truck, coffee & ice cream vans in attendance.

We would like to thank everyone who came along, it was a great turn out with everyone being very respectful of each other and the cars on display.

“There Is No Substitute for Quality” – Historic Arnott’s Memorabilia Headlining a Future Next Level Collectors Catalogue!

By What's News

If you’re an aficionado for Arnott’s branding memorabilia then boy have we got a treat for you!

Entering into a future Next Level Collectors Auction are 4 highly desirable branding and display items that represent the heritage of our nations greatest biscuit producer, Arnott’s. Featuring a pristine 45 year old (approx) Arnott’s Bedford Truck display piece, a 3D Cardboard Albion Delivery Truck, an Arnott’s Biscuit’s selling case and a Framed photo of the original Arnott’s Albion Truck at the Homebush Factory, these really are some highly desirable items!

The Arnott’s Bedford Truck at approximately 45 years old is bound to be one of the stars of this showstopping catalogue. The truck was built at the Homebush Factory by a team of employees in the merchandising store. It was painted and sign written at Arnott’s very own garage workshop with the original-coloured paint and promotional design as seen on the famous red trucks of the past delivering biscuits to stores. The truck was utilised for promotional displays in store, sitting atop a turn table on a pedestal surrounded by hundreds to thousands of Arnott’s biscuits. This truck was on display in the NSW Metro region and is in excellent condition for its age.

Another desirable item featuring in this auction is the 3D Cardboard Albion Delivery Truck. With some notable demand from retailers to acquire the Bedford as a display item for their stores, Arnott’s produced a cardboard version of their iconic Albion Truck to use as a more effective display option at retail stores.

In addition to the two truck items in this auction are the Arnott’s Biscuits Selling Case and the Framed Photo of the Real Albion Truck at the Homebush Factory. The Arnott’s Selling Case was used by the sales team to promote new product lines and samples to retailers and store managers and have proven to be a very collectable item as time moves forward. The photo of the Albion Truck tells a great story too of the heritage of Arnott’s before they became the powerhouse brand they are today.

If you’re looking for some highly collectable Arnott’s memorabilia, then keep a keen eye out on our upcoming auctions!
