Here’s a first for us here at Burns & Co. Coming up soon for auction we have a 2018 Air Boat (Swamp Boat)!!! As you can hear from the video it has plenty of grunt running a 4-cylinder 2.0 Litre engine that was originally from a WRX. The Bernie & Kerry Moran Collection Auction – TOP 5 RESULTS

By What's News

Sought after collectable tractors snapped up in Thursday night auction.

Thursday night saw us wrap up the second of two auctions as part of the dispersion of the Bernie & Kerry Moran Collection Auction. The Morans, from Leigh Creek, via Ballarat, in Victoria possessed a well-known collection, including a fantastic collection of approximately 25 sought after and very collectable tractors, so it was always the case that we were going to see some very competitive bidding and some great results, and that is exactly what happened.

Case in point is the highest selling lot for the auction, Lot 718, the 1967 Oliver 1950 GM Diesel tractor which had multiple bidders vying to be the new owner and was sitting at $47,299 when the hammer fell. Coming in at second place in the top five was Lot 723, a 1982 White 2-110 Front Wheel Assist selling for $21,552, and a 1967 Minneapolis Wheatland G1000 rounded out the top three.

The Top Five results across the two nights can be viewed in the below gallery.

A huge thank you to the Bernie and Kerry Moran for the opportunity to sell your collection and to all our bidders for choosing Burns & Co.

May Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auctions – TOP 5 RESULTS

By What's News

May Auctions see competitive bidding, lots of floor bidders and an 86% Clearance Rate!

The May edition of the Burns & Co Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction wrapped up this week over two massive nights. The first night, on Monday the 19th of May 2025 saw American, European & Japanese Classic & Collectable Cars & Motorcycles going under the hammer, then on the Tuesday evening the Aussie Muscle, Classic & Collectable Cars were up for grabs.

The first time we have held these auctions at nighttime, there were lots of floor bidders on both nights to go along with the always popular online bidding. The top selling lot on the Monday evening (and 4th place overall across both nights) was Lot 13 the ever-stylish 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastback 390 V8 Manual which climbed its way up to a final selling price of $81,600. Coming in at second place for Monday night, selling for $63,302 was Lot 31, the gorgeous 1962 Ford Thunderbird V8 Sports Roadster Automatic which had a number of bidders throwing their hats in the ring to take home this beauty.
The Tuesday night saw bidders duking it out to take home Aussie Muscle, Classic & Collectable Cars. The third highest selling lot for the night (Lot 27), the very well maintained 1985 Holden VK Brock HDT Commodore V8 Manual saw plenty of pre-bidding as well as a late flurry on the night to reach $89,568 when the hammer fell. In second place was a real showstopper, this 1961 Holden EK V8 350 Stroker Sedan Automatic had been receiving a lot of attention, even before for bidding opened, so it was no surprise on the night when the price continued to climb finally finishing at $115,395. But the top selling lot across both nights was the Australian Classic, 1973 Holden HQ Monaro GTS 308 Coupe Manual. As is often the case when it comes to Monaro’s, there was a lot of bidders interested in this car, and the final price of $121,714 was testament to that.
The Top Five results across the two nights can be viewed in the below gallery.
Burns & Co would like to offer a huge thank you to our vendors, staff and bidders for making this sale a success, and most importantly for choosing Burns & Co.

By What's News

Eager bidders in attendance, a massive catalogue with high interest and overall a huge success as we wrap up another unreal auction!

The July edition of the Muscle, Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction wrapped up this week over three massively successful nights! With over 100 incredible lots on display between our two headquarters in Bayswater Victoria and Beresfield NSW, there was much in the way of anticipation for this jam packed catalogue and it showed with lots of bidding action!

Night one featured a hefty catalogue, filled to the brim with Australian muscle and classic vehicles that proved to be very popular with floor bidders, with a number of those floor bidders taking out lots on the night. Night two also saw many classic American, European and Japanese cars and motorcycles go under the hammer and while there were many winning online bidders, there were also a neat handful of floor bidders coming away with some classic wheels. The third and final night put the exclamation point on this very successful auction, with every lot being UNRESERVED on the final day, the clearance rate for night three alone reached a staggering 100%!

Just like the Holden vs Ford days in previous decades, it was a Holden and a Ford taking the top 2 spots as our best sellers in this auction. The highly desirable 1977 Holden LX SS Torana V8 Manual Hatchback that ended up being the top seller, with it reaching a final bid on Monday night of $170,345! A stunning 1974 Ford XB GT 351 V8 Automatic Coupe was the next best seller across all three nights, the Aussie muscle icon garnering an eye catching $162,926. While these cars were heavy hitters on the night, an incredibly rare and desirable UNRESERVED 1982 Ford XE Fairmont Ghia ESP 351 Manual Sedan collected a lot of interest all the way up until the swing of the hammer on auction night, where it achieved a fantastic $112,372!

Cars and bikes outside of Australia were also catching the eyes of a lot of our bidders, with a very cool 2016 Ford Custom Build Hot Rod being the top seller for Tuesday night, with the final price for this mean machine reaching $90,337. Motorcycles were the talk of the night too with many selling well. It was the UNRESERVED 1985 Ducati MHR Mille 1000cc however that sold at the most impressive price amongst the bikes however, with the rare Italian sports bike selling for $50,737.

The final night on Wednesday wrapped up with bang too! In a first here at Burns & Co, we had an fully functioning classic plane! With tremendous interest online and through inspections, the Isaacs Fury 1 Hawker ended up being the top selling lot of Night 3, selling at a final price of $32,911!

Another monthly auction completed, with some major overall catalogue interest,  bidding numbers and sales, what an auction this turned out to be!

The September edition of the Muscle, Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction wrapped up this week over three massively successful nights! With 83 desirable lots on display between our two headquarters in Bayswater Victoria and Beresfield NSW, the anticipation was huge, especially with the amount of opportunity this catalogue produced!

Night one of this massive auction kicked off on September 1st, and featured a symphony of collectable Holden, Ford and Valiant vehicles that shaped the overall automotive culture in Australia. Night one alone saw 7 of the 38 lots reach prices upwards of $100,000, with all but one lot on the night selling! Night two showcased some of the best muscle and classic vehicles on offer outside of Australian soil, with many classic American, European and Japanese cars and bikes going under the hammer. It proved to be a very popular night with some tremendous results being recorded on the night. The third and final night put the exclamation point on this very successful auction, with every lot being UNRESERVED on the final day, the clearance rate for night three alone reached a staggering 100%!

The Torana’s are ever so popular today and boy did we have two special ones feature and sell well in this auction! The 1977 Holden LX Torana A9X 5.0 Litre 308 V8 Manual was the star of the show in this auction, with this mean red machine selling post auction! The best seller of the night was Lot 17, an UNRESERVED 1974 Holden Torana LH L34 SLR5000 5LT V8 Manual. This Sunburst Gold stunner was believed to be 1 of 2 models built in that colour and with such rarity, the car sold for an impressive $231,889. The third best seller that came from night one was Lot 7, the UNRESERVED 1990 Holden VN SS Group A V8 Manual (Build 034). This unreal VN Group A looked factory new, and it certainly garnered some massive interest being unreserved from the very start of the auction. It achieved a big final price of $181,609!

Night 2 proved to be a big night for all enthusiasts of international motoring. The final lot of Night 2 ended up being the nights best seller, with the 1959 Jaguar XK150 FHC Automatic Coupe selling for $109,900, a fantastic achievement! Another showstopping vehicle that generated massive bidder interest from the beginning to end of the auction was Lot 49, the Bumblebee colour themed 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Supercharged V8 Coupe. Reminiscent of the famed Camaro from the Transformers movie franchise, this iconic vehicle sold for $84,073. Among the bikes, it was the 1930 Indian Scout 101 750cc OHV taking the top price, selling at the final swing of the hammer for $48,375.

The third and final night of this auction ended on a high with all lots being sold. A pair of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, the 1994 Mercedes E-Class E320 Coupe Auto and the 1982 Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC Coupe both were the nights equal top sellers, with the pair both reaching a final bid of $19,232.

Burns & Co would like to offer a huge thank you to our vendors, staff and bidders for making this sale a success, and most importantly for choosing Burns & Co.
