The 1915 Indian Motorcycle designed by co-founder Oscar Hedstrom represents a historic transition period for the brand, featuring early V-twin engineering and the final iterations of classic Hedstrom-era design elements before the introduction of the Powerplus engine line. The 1915 Indian Hedstrom model was only manufactured for the one year, making surviving examples extremely thin on the ground.
This 1915 vee twin Indian Hedstrom motorcycle has been in the same ownership since Circa 2003 and appears to still retains all of its original hardware, and special one year only parts.
It has all the correct parts for the 1915 year of production model. This model of Indian is one of the rarest vee twin models ever made.
Based upon the way the bike is presented it would not take very much to make the machine a rider again.
This very attractive example is a feature entry in our November Classic and Collectable Car and Motorcycle auction and is being offered for genuine sale to finalise a deceased estate.
Whilst we’ve made no attempt to start the bike, as mentioned it looks complete and is an outstanding example of a very tightly held make and model.
A centrepiece for any Museum or top end collection, opportunities like this simply don’t present.
